Fast, Fresh Haircuts for Busy Days

"I typically take my son to a Great Clips when he needs a quick clean up for the price, but this one was on par with some of the nicer salons I’ve been to. We visited on a Friday night. Checked in online. 0 min wait time. The store was clean and functional. The stylist was so sweet and understanding with my five year old, and the haircut was done in less than 15 minutes. All for $20?! We will be making this his regular place(: EDIT: editing this bc our next experience left me feeling pretty pissed. We got a different hair dresser. This hairdresser was confrontational from the very beginning. When I show her the picture that I searched as “boys mullet” she says it’s not a mullet it’s a Mohawk. I say okay well that’s what he wants. I could immediately tell she shaved too much off the sides bc she didn’t want to spend the time blending it. Then she asked if I liked the back like blocky Billy ray cyrus style or if I wanted it tapered. I asked her what tapering was/would look like, and she answered with a lot of words and no substance saying that she “liked it this way.” I asked my son if he wanted it to be more pointy in the back or like a block square shape, and he said a spear, so I asked her to taper it and she said it wouldn’t make it pointier. Okay fair since I still don’t know what a taper is lol. She kept cutting and I said I didn’t like the back. Would she mind tapering it, she said it was “going to take too much off/ get it too close” whatever the hell that means. And I said okay “you just do it how you want it done then.” Then she asked him, “do you like it?” And this is where I get really pissed bc you’ve put him in an impossible position to say no, and you’re making him think I don’t like one of his features when really what I don’t like is the hairdresser not being willing to provide a service we’re paying for. We want the back cut? That should be a given that we get that with a haircut. You can see from my review above, really not that hard to please. Just don’t want to feel like the person cutting my kids hair is just waiting to get into fisticuffs with one of the patrons lol. I added pictures of his hair after. You can see the back literally got a trim off the bottom and nothing else. Needless to say, we’re new to the area, if anyone has any hair place recommendations, we could use them!"

"I left this appointment feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. I came in asking for a lot of layers and even tried to show an inspiration photo, but I was told a picture wasn’t needed. The haircut ended up with very minimal layers and wasn’t what I had asked for. What made the experience worse was being told that “normally people brush their hair before coming to the salon,” even though I had brushed my hair beforehand and it naturally tangles very easily. That comment made me feel judged and uncomfortable. While an apology was offered afterward, it felt like the comment was being brushed off rather than genuinely acknowledged. Overall, I didn’t feel listened to, and I won’t be returning."

"I’ve been going to this Great Clips for years strictly out of convenience, and honestly, the haircuts have always been just okay. But what keeps getting worse and what finally pushed me to write this- is the customer service and overall attitude from the staff, especially management. When we walked in yesterday, my boyfriend thought the check-in screen was a touch screen. Instead of simply telling him, the woman at the front (who I believe is the manager -bigger woman with black hair and bangs, has been there forever) was incredibly rude and condescending. Her tone made him feel like he was an idiot for misunderstanding something anyone could easily get wrong. She consistently has an attitude every time we’re in there. Her persona is cold, arrogant, and honestly not suited for customer-facing work. Then there was the newer stylist ( ever seen her before) who cut my 12-year-old son’s hair. When I showed her photos of what we wanted, she abruptly told us, “That’s a barbershop cut, it would take 30–45 minutes,” and then proceeded to say she wouldn’t cut it because it “wouldn’t look good on him.” Instead of walking out, I just told her to do his usual cut. She was visibly annoyed, rough with him, pushy, and handled him with zero patience. My son is a quiet, gentle kid, and he couldn’t wait to get out of the chair. The dismissive attitude, the rudeness, the lack of basic customer service - it’s unbelievable. As a business owner myself, I would be embarrassed to have employees treating customers this way. The owner of this franchise really needs to take a hard look at what’s going on inside this location. Convenience can only keep customers coming back for so long. At this point, we’re done."

"I walked in the shop, a staff asked me if I checked in online. I said no. Then she asked my phone number and found me in the system. She leted me sit and wait for the call. I have been sitting for almost 40 minutes. No one called me. I have to leave for other things. Too bad. I don't know what went wrong. But I feel they don't care about real people if you have not sit on barber chair. They depend on the system too much. Cold system! By the way, I checked the online chech in, the waiting time showed zero. So if you want to go, better check in online. I don't want to go that shop."
